Born From a Love
of Real Food
Our story starts in 2000, with a simple frustration: the food available in supermarkets had drifted far from what Indian home cooking truly is. Preservatives, artificial flavours, palm oil in everything — it wasn't what our grandmothers cooked with. That frustration became Jaypees Instant, built on stone-ground batters and naturally fermented grains, made the way they should be.
In 2013, we brought that legacy under one roof as Duo Foods — the parent company uniting Jaypee's and the products that followed. The name above the door changed. The stone-ground batters, hand-shaped parathas and zero-shortcuts approach didn't. That's what Duo Foods is — and that's what it will always be.

The First Batter
Jaypees Instant was founded — a stone-ground idli-dosa batter for local Mumbai households. Within weeks, it had a waiting list.
Duo Foods Is Born
Duo Foods was established as the parent company, bringing Jaypee's and the products that followed under one brand.
Into Modern Retail
Our batters reached select gourmet grocery stores across Mumbai and Pune, introducing Jaypee's to a new generation of home cooks.
The Paratha Range
We launched our first layered paratha products — Ghar Ka Paratha and Malabar Parota — made with zero palm oil and no preservatives.
Millet Series
With the millet revival sweeping India, we introduced the Jwari Millet Dosa Batter — high fibre, ancient grain, modern convenience.
National Expansion
Duo Foods products are now available across 12 Indian states through retail partners, modern trade, and direct-to-consumer channels.
